Under New Leadership, Twitter is Taking Child Exploitation Seriously
Elon Musk says addressing child sex exploitation is priority #1
Twitter is “taking child exploitation seriously,” the platform’s toughest critic on child sexual exploitation (CSE) told Teslarati in an exclusive interview1.
Bleu pointed out a few key changes Twitter has made under its new leadership. The first changes were to its reporting system. In a tweet thread, Bleu made suggestions for Twitter, and so far, the platform has implemented two of those suggestions. The first one is clear and easy reporting. Twitter implemented a two-click reporting for children reporting their own abuse material.
Bleu noted that there needs to be a separate tab for adults experiencing sexual exploitation as well. “It needs to be crystal clear for both adults and children experiencing sexual exploitation, and the reporting options need to be separate.”

Is Twitter Ignoring Known Hashtags for Trading Child Sex Abuse Videos?
This video is from a year and a half ago (May 2021). Since then, Elon Musk has purchased twitter2 for $44 Billion and immediately started implementing changes.
Lawyers Lisa Haba and Peter Gentala join the Ending Sexploitation podcast to discuss their current lawsuit against Twitter, on behalf of minor survivors. In the course of investigation for this lawsuit, they uncovered many known hashtags that are primarily used for trading child sexual abuse materials (child pornography) which Twitter still has not taken down.
Elon Musk says addressing child sex exploitation is priority #1 for Twitter3
Elon Musk has stated tackling child sex abuse content on Twitter is his number one priority, which comes as a refreshing change after the popular social media platform has spent years dawdling on the issue.
Twitter before Musk expended much of its content moderation energy on banning people for misgendering or stating basic facts of biology, while turning a blind eye to the child sexual exploitation (CSE) content being shared widely on the site.

How Elon Musk's vision for Twitter might solve the platform's most vile problem: Child sexual abuse material4
As quoted from a September 2022 article by Eva Fox titled Twitter Ignores the Publishing of Child Pornography & Sexual Exploitation on Platform, Study Shows5
A Ghost Data study confirmed that Twitter has a very liberal policy on pornographic content, and such content is easy to find on the platform. However, the study also revealed something much nastier: “in the initial 20 days of September 2022, over 500 accounts shared, requested and/or publicly exchanged child pornography material.” Keep in mind that the activities that the group was able to identify during this study represent only a small percentage of what is happening publicly and daily on the global platform.

This is unbelievably disturbing. I can not imagine how anyone reading this could have realized the gravity of this exploitation. It is truly heart-breaking - and unfortunately, much more prevalent than many of us have realized.
This is not directly related to Twitter, but I felt this necessary to include. The timing of this release, to me, spoke volumes.
