This year, Heritage published their inaugural Education Freedom Report Card to assess education freedom in each state.
The report card measures 4 broad categories that are comprised of more than two dozen detailed factors.
Education choice
Regulatory freedom
Transparency
Return on investment for education spending
K-12 spending is up 3X since 1970, with no meaningful academic gains.
The scorecard will be updated every year so that parents, policymakers, and all voters know what their states are doing well and where improvement is required. This initiative empowers American taxpayers to spur necessary and lasting reform.
So how well does Delaware rank? Not so well. Delaware ranks #31 out of all 50 states, including District of Columbia.
Delaware ranks dead last in Regulatory Freedom!
If there is a silver lining to be had, it is that Delaware ranks #7 in transparency. When that transparency is utilized, it gives the public a look at how the sausage is made. When unsavory ingredients are found, we the people may respond accordingly to prevent the rot & decay of our children’s academic success.
We, the tax paying citizens of Delaware, are the moral arbiters for our American youth. It is our responsibility to stand up and protect them from the erosion of Freedom and Prosperity!
