It's Open Enrollment Season for 'School Choice'
Many parents in Delaware are unaware that this is an option for their children.
The Delaware public education system is in disarray. Delaware public schools have been failing the children academically1, while simultaneously pushing a woke ideology that is antithetical to many Delawareans personal values.
There is one thing that Delaware schools do offer that I whole-heartedly support, and that is ‘School Choice’. It gives parents the option to send their child to a different public or charter school than the school of which they would otherwise attend based upon where they live. This gives the parents the opportunity to send their child to a school which they feel will best support their child’s education. It will also shine a light on the schools that are undesirable in the eyes of the shareholders, the parents.
DELAWARE 'SCHOOL CHOICE' PROGRAM
The 2022 open enrollment School Choice dates are November 7, 2022 through January 11, 2023. During this time, Delaware parents can apply to have their child attend a new school - either within the same school district, another district, or a charter school. Parents can access the online application and instructions by visiting SchoolChoiceDE.org.2
