Wake Up, Sleepyhead!
A tongue-in-cheek title to the news that may be misrepresented or go unreported
The current state of affairs in this country can be overwhelming. I know! With the cold weather rolling in and holidays fast approaching, you wouldn't be remiss if you were unaware of the recent absurdity.
That's why I decided to scrape together some stories from the recent weeks that may have gone unnoticed….or unreported.
Last night, a man was found shot dead in a vehicle behind P.S. DuPont Middle School in Wilmington. This story is still developing.

DNREC finalizes EV regulations. Critics are not impressed2
November 29, 2023 | Delaware LIVE
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) announced late yesterday that it has finalized regulations mandating the aggressive, increasing sale of new zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) – predominately battery-electric vehicles.
Under the final regulations, starting with model year 2027 (Fall 2026), 43% of all new cars and trucks vehicle-makers ship to Delaware will be required to be ZEVs. That percentage will increase annually to 82% by model year 2032. The regulations will expire in model year 2033.
Last month, the National Automotive Dealers Association issued a statement on the EPA proposal, noting that it “ignores real-world consumer demand and goes too far, too fast.” NADA maintains the plans are fundamentally flawed because conditions that are needed first to make electric vehicles broadly attractive to consumers – i.e., vehicle affordability, a sufficient and reliable charging infrastructure, and acceptable charging speeds – do not yet exist. The group also noted the federal rule’s hyper-focus on EV sales, to the exclusion of other alternatively-fueled vehicles, reduces consumer choice and increases cost, creating a barrier to the adoption of other types of less polluting vehicles.3

David T. Stevenson , director Center for Energy & Environmental Policy wrote an article on DNREC's proposal for Delaware to follow California's insane environmental 'standards'.
Flawed Assumptions Undermine Gasoline-Powered Car Ban Regulation4
DNREC provides no clear path on how the low-income communities with no dedicated off-street parking or those living in multi-family rentals will charge their EVs at home.
Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) responded to data showing that American citizens were not buying the climate scam by stating, “We’ll continue to move forward regardless.”5
Last week, a newly elected Bucks County school board president was sworn in on a stack of sexually explicit books, as opposed to would traditionally be the Bible.
“The Bible doesn’t hold significant meaning for me, and given everything that has occurred in the last couple of years, the banned books, they do mean something to me at this point.”
Please, do not conflate BANNED BOOKS with keeping sexually explicit books out of the hands of minors.
Uncle Tom's Cabin6 was truly a Banned Book - forced out of schools by the Ku Klux Klan to keep Harriet Beecher Stowe's novel from spreading abolitionist views.
Fact is, most of these parents who are now being labeled ‘book banners’ are the same parents who feel that Uncle Tom's Cabin must be read in school. To teach of the horrors of slavery, and learn the inspiring story of the main character, based off real life escaped slave and Undrerground Railroad conductor, Josiah Henson7.
Students should be reading the influential story of Booker T. Washington8 through his own words written in his 1901 autobiography “Up From Slavery”.
They should be reading of the the American Civil War hero Robert Smalls9, an escaped slave who commandeered a Confederate steamship turned war vessel, rescuing his family as well as other slaves, navigating that ship through four heavily armed checkpoints, into the hands of the Union Army, where he then became a Union Navy captain of that ship, and later, elected to serve Americans in congress.
Wow! One of the most amazing stories of perseverance - yet many have never even heard of this great man.
…and here are the actual pages from the above books which have been ushered into to many of America’s schools. You decide if these books belong in middle schools. (or ‘worthy’ to be sworn on)
Below are the Rated Books Review from RatedBooks.org. See the content for yourself and decide what is appropriate.
I am unaware of any objections to ‘Night’ by Eli Wiesel aside from age appropriateness due to the violence described by the author’s Holocaust experiences with his father in the Nazi Germany concentration camps at Auschwitz and Buchenwald.
She conveniently left out Gender Queer, This Book is Gay, Not My Idea, & Lucky - all books found and/or promoted in Delaware & Pennsylvania schools.

US college presidents from MIT, Harvard & UPenn testify under oath at a congressional hearing on campus antisemitism
In fact, MIT president Sally Kornbluth already made her stance known when she refused to kick students out who openly harassed Jewish students for the fact that they were here on student VISAs, and would therefore have their student VISA revoked - AKA they lose their overly expensive tuition!
MIT president Sally Kornbluth said in a statement that those students who remained in Lobby 7 after they were told to leave will be disciplined but will still be able to attend classes.
“Because we later heard serious concerns about collateral consequences for the students, such as visa issues, we have decided, as an interim action, that the students who remained after the deadline will be suspended from non-academic campus activities,” Kornbluth said.
“The students will remain enrolled at MIT and will be able to attend academic classes and labs.”11

The New York Times posts an opinion piece titled “The Startling Evidence on Learning Loss Is In”, discussing how shutting down schools for nearly two years, in hindsight, wasn't the best idea.
Ya think?
What a jackass! Nowhere in the article is anybody held to account for their actions that lead to the massive academic loss, and harm caused by social isolation.
The Startling Evidence on Learning Loss Is In13
November 18, 2023 | New York Times
The evidence was there. The evidence has ALWAYS been there. Fact is, you were not allowed to discuss the evidence. If you dare mentoned it online, you risked having your account banned. If you were to speak up at a school board meeting, or make that statement, you were labeled a “right wing extremist”.14 I am proud to know many of those registered DEMOCRAT “right wing extremists” (Can you sense the irony?) who stood up for America's children.
While at the same time a Spanish study of nearly 600,000 children failed to find any significant difference in the number of infections between the masked and unmasked.

26-Year-Old Atlanta Woman Arrested for Attempting to Burn Down Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birth Home16
“Fortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful, thanks to the brave intervention of good Samaritans and the quick response of law enforcement. We thank the Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta Fire Department, the National Parks Service, and Mayor Andre Dickens for leading the efforts to ensure the safety of our cherished national landmark and its adjacent neighbors. Our prayers are with the individual who allegedly committed this criminal act.”
Christian School Kids Lift Car to Rescue Trapped Mom and Baby17
December 8, 2023 | Gateway Pundit
Here is an an uplifting story of school kids working together to lift a car, freeing a mother & child pinned underneath.
“I immediately just ran into the building because I knew I had to get a lot of people to lift this car. We have about 220 domestic kids and over 300 international kids at the school. They just heard me yell. All these kids from different countries just come running out and lift it up.”
Most importantly, the kids did not just stand there recording on their cell phone - they did something!
That is what heroes do.
Senator Dick Durban blocks request to subpoena Jeffrey Epstein's flight logs.
"Given the numerous allegations of human trafficking and sexual abuse surrounding Mr. Epstein, I think it is very important that we identify everybody that was on that plane, and how many trips they took on that plane, and the destinations to which they arrived," she added.

Illegal Chinese Bio-Labs in California
According to the report, thousands of vials containing potentially dangerous or unknown substances, including some labeled "Ebola" and "HIV," were uncovered during an inspection of what was initially thought to be a vacant warehouse. The facility was uncovered in December 2022 by Jesalyn Harper, a Reedley code enforcement official who spotted a green hose sticking out of the building, and then went in to investigate. Inside, Harper found an array of laboratory equipment, medical-grade freezers, mice for experiments and vials containing writing in English, Mandarin and an unknown code. Several individuals wearing lab coats were also discovered who claimed to be Chinese nationals.20
OMG goes undercover into Congressional Staffer to report on Chinese funded Bio Lab
US Congressman Jim Costa's top congressional staffer, Daniel Sepulveda, admits the illegal Chinese biolab poses a grave risk to public health and national security. Asked if his boss, thinks the lab endangered public safety. “Yes, he does,” Sepulveda stated into a button cameras:
"I saw they had a secret recording the Lab Owner saying he was doing it to benefit the Chinese government"
"I knew months before anybody else did"
"How many other people are creating labs within the United States?" …”There could be more”
Thanks to a volunteer citizen journalist, we were able to confront the staffer and ask some important questions. We wanted to know if there are other labs operating in the same way, and what the implications might be of China operating a bioweapons program on American soil. As you may have guessed, Sepulveda wasn’t interested in going on the record.
‘Their lives were deteriorating’: Finnish doctor who pioneered gender clinics for minors blows the whistle on her own industry21

I have also come across a great write up on Delaware education by the 38th district Republican club titled “Yes, Education Matters”22
I urge you to read what is said, and by all means, reach out to the author of the post with any concerns, suggestions, or criticism.
For it is that civil discourse that leads to improved outcomes.
Yes, Education Matters
Some of us may believe that if we are no longer in school ourselves, or our kids are long out of school, then Delaware's educational system shouldn't matter to us. Oh, but it does. Education matters, for ALL Delawareans. And here's why…

The Story of Josiah Henson, the Real Inspiration for ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’
Rather than letting the media and propagandist anti-Tom novels gain attention and discredit the truths behind her novel, Stowe decided to fight fire with fact. Her response to critics was another book, published in early 1853, called The Key to Uncle Tom’s Cabin: Presenting the Original Facts and Documents upon Which the Story Is Founded, Together with Corroborative Statements Verifying the Truth of the Work. A giant annotated bibliography of her sources, the book pointing to hundreds of documented cases of real-life incidents that were similar or identical to those portrayed in her story.
Stowe had named names. She had described the various people who had inspired the characters of Mr. Haley, George Harris, Eliza, Simon Legree, and the rest. One of those characters, of course, was of particular interest. Who was Uncle Tom?
In a letter to Frederick Douglas it was written:
“It is now certain, that the Rev. JOSIAH HENSON, of Dawn, Canada West, is the real Uncle Tom, the Christian hero, in Mrs. Stowe’s far-famed book of ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin.’”
This biography tells an amazing story of heroism every American should know!
